HANDLING THE DRAMA THAT COMES WITH SINGLE-HOOD

William Shakespeare said, _“the whole world is a stage and all the men and women merely actors. They have their exists and entrances.”_

This shows that life is full of dramas and every stage we find ourselves, whether teen-age, single-hood, marriage-hood, parent-hood, waiting-to-be-parent-hood, widowhood, oldage-hood and any other stage in life, has its drama.

It can be a tug of war for anyone going through dramas whether single or married. And just like every other stage, the drama that comes with being single can be tough especially when you’re seemingly getting to that limit of societal marital expectation. The drama at that stage may include answering some embarrassing questions, being insulted, ridiculed or even misjudged. This can so confuse you that you’d begin to gulp any suggestion, idea or even “assistance” desperately.

This is why human beings don't like dramas.
If we all had our ways, nobody would like to have drama in life but we don’t have control over SOME dramas. In fact, life will be too boring without dramas as there won't be victories, testimonies and encouragement to extend to others. EVERYBODY is going or will go through life’s drama.

Even Jesus said in John 16:33 (MSG) that, _“In this godless world you will continue to experience difficulties. But take heart! I’ve conquered the world.”_

So, how you manage this drama is what determines what you make out of it.

This is why you need to develop or build capacity to enjoy life so that life’s drama will not gradually eat you up until you become dead (not necessarily physically but emotionally, mentally, psychologically and every other area of life).

You need to understand the stage you are in and why you’re there. You need to adapt, realign and keep moving. You need to love yourself (this is so important to your mental health), build self esteem, don’t be too harsh on yourself, trust yourself, set healthy boundaries (don’t give major roles to those who should have minor roles in your life).

You need to breathe, relax and enjoy the stage while you grow.
You need to speak positively always, hang out with friends, listen to inspiring songs or messages, engage in mind lifting discussion, and ask God for help and strength.

So, when life throws lemons at you, don’t only make lemonade from them, make smoothies and juices.
